Psalm 24: Lift your heads, O you gates

Lift your heads, O you gates,
Be raised up, as you wait;
Everlasting doors open wide your courts,
Let your roars of triumph ring.
And the Lord, King of kings,
Strong in might, shall come in
Gloriously robed, enemies deposed –
Your majestic King!

All the earth, each territory, is the Lord’s by right;
Every creature is invigorated by His light.
Continents and islands He established by decree,
Setting them securely on the sea!

Lift your heads, O you gates,
Be raised up, as you wait;
Everlasting doors open wide your courts,
Let your roars of triumph ring.
And the Lord, King of kings,
Strong in might, shall come in
Gloriously robed, enemies deposed –
Your majestic King!

Who the holy hill of Zion may in truth ascend?
Who before such purity and holiness may stand?
He alone whose hands and heart are pure like winter snow;
He the Lord shall bless and favour show!

Lift your heads, O you gates,
Be raised up, as you wait;
Everlasting doors open wide your courts,
Let your roars of triumph ring.
And the Lord, King of kings,
Strong in might, shall come in
Gloriously robed, enemies deposed –
Your majestic King!
