Psalter manuscript

Psalm 47: O, you saints in every land

Resources

O, you saints in every land,
Shout to God and clap your hands
With a voice of triumph sing
Hallelujahs to the king!
Rebel tribes beneath our feet
He shall vanquish and defeat;
Jacob, filled with excellence,
Shall be His inheritance,
Be to Him for all His love:
Glory, glory, glory – let the nations sing…
Glory, glory, glory – to the Saviour King!

See, the Lord ascend on High
Through great billows in the sky,
Rising while the angels shout
Regal trumpets sounding out.
Worship skilfully and raise
Psalms of joyfulness and praise;
Jesus Christ, the paschal Lamb,
Rules the world in every land,
Be to Him for all His love:
Glory, glory, glory – let the nations sing…
Glory, glory, glory – to the Saviour King!

Seated high on heaven’s throne
Ruling those who are His own;
Humbly gathered all around
Kings and prodigals are found.
All their weapons, stout and strong –
Shields and swords – will soon belong,
To the heirs of Abraham,
Who as plenteous as the sand
Will declare in every land
Glory, glory, glory – let the nations sing…
Glory, glory, glory – to the Saviour King!
