Teach me O Lord how Your holy commandments
Find application in all that I do;
Give to Your servant a true understanding
Of what is beautiful, noble and true.
Make every step of the pathway before me
Wholly conformed to Your covenant law;
Let not the beauty so fleeting before me
Ravish my covetous heart any more.
Grant me new life in the soul of my being;
Fully enlighten Your word to my eyes.
Make me devoted to fearing You always,
For I perceive that Your judgments are wise!
