Psalm 126: When captives returned at last to Zion

Resources

When captives returned at last to Zion
From disparate places they had been,
Each heart and each mouth was filled with laughter
In moments more vibrant than a dream.

Great shouts of deliverance in the nations
Induced every tribe and tongue to say,
‘The Lord, our Sustainer and Redeemer,
Has blessed us indeed in this our day!’

Great things He has done for us His people
Who trust Him and wait for Him to bless;
Restoring the glory of creation
Like streams in the southern wilderness.

Sow on tearfully; know that your weeping,
While seeds of His truth you cast around,
Shall yield soon a harvest more abundant
Than choice summer sheaves on fertile ground.
