I will give thanks with every breath
To Him who dwells on high;
My God and King will hear me sing
Until the day I die.
Let us not trust princes or kings,
No help can they supply
For they like all men shall return
Beneath the ground to lie.
Happy the ones hoping in Him,
Who all creation made;
The justice of His law and truth
Will be their talk and trade.
All who are poor, hungry or blind,
The Lord will comfort soon;
He whom the fatherless behold
Will overturn their gloom.
Then evermore Jesus shall reign
And rule from shore to shore;
The tyranny of wretched sin
Like death shall be no more!
