Ephesians 2:19 – 3:7 > Rooted on the firm foundation

Resources

Rooted on the firm foundation of the Lord’s appointed men,
We are servants of Christ the Son of Man;
Foreign culture lies behind us, now we’re fellow citizens –
Saints and members of God’s most holy clan.
Pressing on, pressing on,
Seeing yonder the New Jerusalem!

Summoned as a royal priesthood, sanctified and born again,
Heirs together with Christ the Son of Man;
Making worthy preparations for the New Jerusalem
Built according to God’s most holy plan,
Pressing on, pressing on,
Daily nearing the New Jerusalem!

Chief in majesty and splendour Christ became our cornerstone
In that city where truly we belong;
By and by we’ll be united, not a man will stand alone
Gladly singing Mount Zion’s happy song!
Pressing on, pressing on,
Called to enter the New Jerusalem!

In this final dispensation there remains no mystery
Evermore the gentile nations have in Jesus been set free…

May they comprehend the promise of His kingdom here begun,
Solely trusting in God’s beloved Son.
Draw them in, make them come
Every nation, every tribe and every tongue;
Draw them in, make them come
Every nation, every tribe and every tongue!
