It is commonplace to hear Christians argue ‘evidentially’ for the plausibility of Christianity & Scripture from the pulpit. All too frequently they will rehearse the various arguments in favour of regarding the resurrection of Christ as indicative of Christ’s deity & consequently our need to submit to Him as Lord. In this brilliant piece, Bahnsen argues that in so doing, we effectively put ‘God in the doc’ & invite the covenant-breaking unbeliever to make his own autonomous thinking & logic the arbiter of what is possible. How far we’ve drifted from being UNDER the authority of God’s word!
