Ecclesiastes 12 > Remember Your Creator

Before the light grows dim under midnight skies
And granite days are come;
Before the golden bowl is broken
Like the setting sun;
Before the years of dreary days draw near
Where stormy clouds hang low;
Before the grinding stops
And the sunshine turns to snow…

Recognise the fleeting seasons of your youth
And gladly your Creator magnify;
Set His Law within your heart as holy truth
Till its radiance illuminates your eye!

Before the keepers, trembling, turn aside
And fading moonbeams cease;
Before the birdsong you awaken to
Savages your peace;
Before the strong men bow ‘neath burdens
And the silver cord is burst
And every step you take
Beneath your breath is cursed….

Recognise the fleeting seasons of your youth
And gladly your Creator magnify;
Set His Law within your heart as holy truth
Till its radiance illuminates your eye!
