May the sovereign of our nation
Glory in the Lord’s salvation;
Seeking godly renovation
In the cities of our land.
Fill him with life’s joy and fullness
May he know Your loving kindness;
Grant, as tokens of Your goodness,
Strength and honour in his court.
But, O Lord, hunt down the rebels
Who have scattered seeds of trouble;
May they scorch and burn as stubble
Leaving none to follow on.
May the evil that they’ve plotted
Everlastingly be halted,
Then shall Jesus be exalted
In our symphony of praise!
