Psalm 120: In deep distress I cried aloud

Resources

In deep distress I cried aloud,
‘Redeem my soul, O Lord, I pray
From lying lips and crooked mouth
And rebels who would walk astray’.

What shall our God give unto them
Who Him profane with careless tongue?
Both fiery coals from broom-tree pines
And arrows sharp from warriors strong.

As I sojourn through Meshech here
And dwell in tents in old Kedar,
The Lord knows how I long for peace,
Yet those I meet want only war!
