Psalter manuscript

Psalm 141: I look to You, O Lord make haste

Resources

I look to You, O Lord make haste to me;
Give ear to this my cry!
May this my solemn prayer like incense be
From holy hands held high.

Set up a mighty guard, O gracious Lord,
Around the doorway of my tongue,
And keep my feeble heart, Lord, set apart
In service of the Son!

When godly men rebuke and chasten me
Make my heart open wide;
Let me not turn away from painful truth
Nor close my ears and hide.

For solely my concern is to discern
The path of justice we must walk,
So make your servants hear my pleasant words
When we together talk.

Behold my eyes are turned towards the Lord
Pursuing all He says.
In Him I understand the whole of life,
And comprehend my ways.

May subtle enemies be caught with ease
In all the snares that they devise;
To all Your saints display, O God I pray,
The guile behind their lies.
