Mighty men of valour everywhere
Can you hear a whisper in the air
Summoning the nations to prepare
For war?
Rouse yourself from sleep upon the ground
Gather from your cities all around
Come behold the glory of the Mount…ain
Of the Lord!
Bolster and embolden all your words;
Beat your muddy ploughshares into swords,
Cast your insecurities abroad
Take your stand!
Though a weakly nation lacking might,
We have pledged allegiance to the Light
Facing up Goliath let us fight
Hand to hand!
Behold the multitudes trembling and assembling
In the Valley of Decision ‘neath the sun?
Deep is the darkness suffocating heaven’s brightness
For the fickle compromisers there undone –
Every one!
Dreadful is the Judgement drawing nigh
Full of holy thunder is the sky;
Now’s the time for harvest – fruit is ripe –
Draw it down!
He who is the Judge now overthrows
Wickedness where e’re the Spirit blows;
Wine within His winepress overflows
‘For His crown!
Chilling is the clamour of His voice
Scattering the darkness with its noise
Overturning all things it is poised
To redeem!
Humbly made to bow down on her knee
Egypt shall a desolation be;
Edom too shall in captivity
Then be seen!

Safe beneath the shelter of the Son
Strangers never more to her shall come
Yet unknown;
From the place where empty brooks had been
Shall spring up a pleasant mountain stream;
There the choicest wine groves you have seen
Shall be sown!

Come, behold Jerusalem, Bride of God’s beloved Son,
Redeemed and from iniquity set free!
Cleansed from her unholy pride she shall evermore abide
Glorified in heaven’s jubilee
