Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,
I sanctified your lips before the light of day;
You are to be My holy seer,
Let nations far away and near,
Hear solemnly the things I, through you, to them say.
Though but a child you are to heed My calling,
I put within your mouth a mighty living word;
Count not the weakness of your youth
The slightest hindrance to My truth,
Fear not their face, be resolute, be undeterred!
Behold My hand shall surely you deliver;
The kingdoms of the earth I set beneath your feet.
Be sure to root out and destroy
All influence of sin’s alloy;
Raise up and plant the ruins of God’s mercy seat.
