No wife, no sons, no daughters shall
Be yours within this place,
This people will be slaughtered all
With terrible disgrace;
Don’t mourn their death and dying
Nor sing them a lament,
By sword or by famine they’ll be struck –
The Lord will not relent!

Their corpses shall be taken to
Be savaged by the beasts;
Which with the birds their flesh shall chew
And ravage in a feast.
God’s gracious lovingkindness,
With blessings that He sent
Will, for their treason, be withdrawn,
The Lord will not relent!

The voice of mirth will yield to gloom
And gladness shall be gone;
The tender words of bride and groom
Will spoken be by none;
God’s Law they have forsaken,
Idolatry they’ve learnt.
For overturning holy truth
The Lord will not relent!

Wherefore the cause of Jesus Christ
Is in the world maligned,
The god’s we bow to day and night
Enslave us in our mind;
God’s blessing is behind us,
His favour is far spent,
No more this world perceives His might
The Lord will not relent!
The Lord will not relent!
Repayment shall be double for
The remnant of God’s sheep
Who stubbornly disdain God’s Law
Refusing it to keep;
Their proud determination
Forbids them to repent,
Their lands lies barren else defiled
The Lord will not relent!
