Psalm 129: Often-times, from days of youth

Resources

Often-times, from days of youth,
For the sake of holy truth
In the midst of fierce affliction I’ve been hounded.
Let God’s people everywhere
To all citizens declare,
“We by reprobates have surely been confounded”.

All the schemes which they’ve devised
Shall frustrated, be revealed;
Every fact that they’ve revised
Reconstructed will be healed.

Now be wary of your fate
You who Zion’s children hate
For our King is standing just around the corner;
As the daylight turns to shade
Like the roof grass you will fade
Overwhelmed and cut to pieces in His anger.

All the schemes which they’ve devised
Shall frustrated, be revealed;
Every fact that they’ve revised
Reconstructed will be healed.

Token scars of suffering
Are these wounds upon my skin –
As a pasture newly ploughed so is my body;
With a loud triumphant song
God the proud will overcome
Till at last He will be loved by everybody.

All the schemes which they’ve devised
Shall frustrated, be revealed;
Every fact that they’ve revised
Reconstructed will be healed.
