Sovereign Lord of all my strength,
Why do You abandon me?
Do not let me be oppressed
By my enemy.
Send Your light and truth to me;
Let them only be my guide,
Leading me to Zion’s hill –
Drawing me inside.
Help me, Lord, come plead my cause;
Vindicate the words I say.
For the wicked of our land
Everywhere hold sway.
Standing in the temple court,
I will praise You loud and strong;
God, the source of all my joy,
Hear my solemn song!
Wherefore, why am I cast down?
Trust in God expectantly;
For His help we’ll surely sing
Through eternity!
